MRI #3....

We are very excited to report that this morning Kyle had this third MRI since finishing radiation and things remain stable.

After taking a wonderful vacation to Vancouver Island to spend a few days with our cousins Liz and Christopher, we got up early this morning for the drive to Seattle. Kyle was his easy-going self, not complaining about the fact he'd had to skip breakfast to get ready for his latest round of tests. He chose bubblegum flavor for his giggle gas and took a snooze while getting new pictures inside his head. We were all nervous waiting to hear what has been going on inside that little noggin. We waited about an hour to learn that there doesn't appear to be any noticeable growth and that the "brain bump" seems stable at this time.

We continue to be amazed by Kyle. He is still symptom free, he has grown nearly an inch in the last 8 weeks and has lost all the chubbiness caused by the steriods. He spends his summer days playing with friends, going to horse camp, taking swimming lessons and riding his bike.

What happens next? Well, now we settle into the next 8 weeks...packing in adventures for the remainder of the summer, getting ready for the start of first grade, and, of course, get ready for Husky Football and cheering on Jake Locker!

Hey Kyle!
My name is Megan and I'm one of your dad's students from Squalicum. I was the one who came over and gave you and your brother the suckers at the out-door movie a few weekends ago. I'm so glad to see you doing so well. Your positive attitude is inspiring! I'm happy to see you are spending your summer having tons of fun. I see you've gotten to swim with dolphins, I've always wanted to do that! I bet it was a lot of fun! I hope you continue to improve and show everyone just how tough you are! Good luck! You and your family are in my prayers!

Hi Kylie,
I had Mrs. De Jong for Kindergarten last year and learned about your "brain bump" from her. I have been following how you are doing on your blogspot. I am happy that you are doing so well. Maybe we will be in the same 1st grade class together or we can play on the playground together.
Love, Gracey Henoch

Dear Roger Family,

I am friends with Megan & Ed McNamara, whose daughter, Maria, was diagnosed with a DIPG last year. They established the Prayers from Maria/Children's Glioma Cancer Foundation at the beginning of this year. I am involved with the PFM/CGCF and have been assisting them with a new section designed to help families. Before the launch of this new site, Megan would like to send out letters to the families. We do not have your email information. On behalf of Megan and the foundation, I would like to invite you to privately email me with your contact/email info in order to include you in the announcements. I will also be able to answer any questions. If you are not familiar with the Prayers from Maria Foundation, please go to www.prayersfrommaria.org for more information on this site and the McNamara Family.

Keeping you in prayer.

Blessings,

Hi Kyle-
It was so great to see you at Open House today. Thanks for stopping by my room and giving me such an awesome hug! One of my favorite parts of the day was seeing all of my Kindergarten friends from last year. You have all grown so much and are so ready for new and challenging adventures in 1st grade!

I am so happy that you had such a fun summer. I loved seeing all of the great pictures of you and your family enjoying happy times together.

I hope you have a great weekend and a really fabulous first day of first grade. Mrs. Stevens is a super lucky teacher!!!

Don't forget to stop by my room and say hi or tell me a good joke when you have one.

Love-
Mrs. DeJong

Hi Kyle!

Happy first week of 1st grade! I was thinking about you yesterday. Did you have a fun day? Are any of your old pals in your class this year? Did you make any new friends? I hope you and Cola are doing really great! I'm sorry summer vacation is over, but I'm sure you are ready for all the new adventures you are going to have in 1st grade at Happy Valley!

I love you and miss you.

Lindsey

PS...I really miss having someone to play farkle with!

YEAH! This is great news. Kylie, you look so grown up--and very handsome I might add. No surprise with that gorgeous mama of yours.
Our family proudly displays our "ooh-um-gawa" bumper sticker on our car. I smile every time I see it.
Thinking of you buddy and praying for continued great news.
Lots of love, The Carpenters
