Kyle had just celebrated his sixth birthday when we discovered he had a rare brain stem tumor (a diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma) on February 9, 2007. For the next two years we lived our lives at warp speed sharing adventures, laughs and smiles as we embraced every moment. Kyle Jacob Roger January 17, 2001 - February 7, 2009.

Dear Kyle,
I heard about you from Barbra Jorgenson, who is a friend of my Mom's. I was also diagnosed with a brain tumor on January 11th 2006.
Congratulations on finishing your radiation treatment. I hear that you played soccer right after and scored seven goals. I play soccer too, but I couldn't have run around and scored seven goals! I was way too tired.
That's pretty cool that you got to meet Jake Locker from the Huskies. Sounds like you guys had a good time together.
I just finished my year-long treatment from my brain tumor and I'm feeling pretty tired. I was able to beat my cancer, and I know that you will be able to beat yours too.
Your friend,
Jimmy Fowkes

Hi Kyle!
Wow! I just heard your great news. You just made me the happiest teacher on the whole planet. I knew in my heart that you were strong enough to battle that bump! We will be celebrating big time at the DeJong house tonight!
I hope you have the best time in Florida. You deserve a great vacation.
Lots of love and hugs to you and your family.
You do have the "powa!"
Love-
Mrs. DeJong
Hey there Kylie,
All I can say is WOW! There were tears of joy flowing when Kim called and left the message - you have made many people so proud and given the gift of hope to so many others by just being your brave self. I made many calls today to spread the good news. Early on, when we first heard about your bump Cali said "Don't worry Mom, Kyle will feel better in August." She got the "feel better" part right and you beat her on the timing by far! You rock, buddy!
Much love from our house to yours and lots of hugs, too. Hope you have the best vacation in Florida!

Can't wait to see you and give you a big hug!

Have a wonderful vacation in Florida!
