Canoe to Mt. Bike
Kyle has inspired many people with his strength and his amazing attitude. One group was so inspired that they formed Team Kyle to participate in the Bellingham Ski to Sea race (7 legs – cross country, downhill, run, road bike, canoe, mountain bike, kayak). When asked to participate, one team member said “It’s for Kyle? Of course I’ll do it!”
Memorial Day weekend started with a barbecue for the team, their families, and others who just love to be around Kyle and his family. On race day, the team cars were highly visible from one end of the course to the other with “Team Kyle” and “Ooo-Um-Gow-Ah” painted all over the windows. Kyle, Cola and their buddies had fun playing on the beaches while they waited for the canoe and kayak to finish. On many legs, Kyle’s chant could be heard cheering the racers on. Kylie t-shirts were everywhere!! While some legs were finished in astonishing time (Gil Lund on the cross country ski leg), and others were challenging (that nasty whirlpool catching the canoe), every racer put in tons of effort and did a great job!! They all showed Kyle how much he is adored and admired!
A big thanks and congratulations to Team Kyle: Cross-Country - Gil Lund, Downhill - Harold Cashman, Run - Amy Wilson, Road Bike - Gary Bass, Canoe - Paul Davis & Brady Davis, Mountain Bike - Scott Wilson, & Kayak - John Groves.
